2024 Farmers Market
The 2024 Farmers Market has begun! It will run from July 10-October 9 and will be held at North Hennepin Community College, access off West Broadway, each Wednesday from 1-6 p.m.

Fee Assistance
Did you know we have fee assistance and scholarships available?
The City of Brooklyn Park provides fee assistance for all residents of Brooklyn Park to participate in programs.
Assistance will reduce fees up to 75% based on income and household size. Additional fee reduction may be available for families experiencing homelessness or for children that are considered wards of the state.
The maximum scholarship amount is $400 per person, per year.
Additional fee assistance is available for Summer Camp and Summer Fusion.
Scholarships are not available for facility use fees, athletic leagues, private lessons, or trips. Learn more HERE.

Celebrate Brooklyn Park: Summer Splash
Cool off at this FREE annual event with family and friends of all ages. This year's inflatables include a slip 'n slide, bounce house, rainbow water slide and more. Enjoy more waterful-fun provided by Fire and Water Departments or take a break with DJ Snuggles.

Celebrate Brooklyn Park: Jazz in July
Head outdoors this summer for live music, food trucks, and community in the park.
Our Celebrate Brooklyn Park: Jazz in July concert is the kick-off for the summer of FREE concerts around Brooklyn Park with each month featuring a different theme!
This concert will feature three different performances. Light jazz with The Living Trio, starts at 5 p.m. At 6 p.m. the Brooklyn Big Band takes the stage. Then at 8 p.m., the Good News Big Band will close out the evening.
Come early to enjoy treats from Youniverse Foodie, play cornhole, and check out the instrument petting zoo, hosted by Bach to Rock.
Starting at 5 p.m. the Brooklyn Park Lions Club will be hosting a happy hour, that runs until 8 p.m. They will selling beer and wine for $6 a glass and proceeds will go towards raising money for the community.

Brooklyn Park's Night Out
Join us for Brooklyn Park's Night Out, a kickoff celebration for National Night Out. The event will occur at Central Park and include a free outdoor movie, Kung Fu Panda 4.
From 7-9 p.m., we will have activities throughout the park including; touch-a-truck, popsicles, yard games, DJ Snuggles, concessions, food trucks, and more.
The movie will begin around 9 p.m.

Beginner DSLR Photography Class
Feel the excitement as you unleash your inner photographer! Embark on an extraordinary journey into the realm of digital photography with us! Happening on July 11, July 18, and July 25 from 6-8 p.m., join us at the Zanewood Recreation Center for an immersive experience. Our expert instructor will guide you through hands-on learning sessions. Dive deep into the art of composition, unravel the mysteries of lighting, and more. Get ready to dazzle the world with your newfound skills! You can showcase your talent during the city-wide photo contest later this year. Reserve your spot now and let your creativity soar!

Ice Skating Lesson Registration
Summer is a perfect time for ice skating lessons and a great way to cool off on a hot day!
Our next session begins on July 10, but you can register now! We have classes for those ages 3-99. Register HERE.
Snow Plow Sam: Ages 3-5, learn to get comfortable being on ice in skates.
Skating School: Ages 6+, focused on ice skating basics for beginners.
Advanced Skating School: Ages 6+, focused on strengthening edges, forward and backward crossovers, backward stroking, and quick stops.
Junior Club Group: Ages 6+, focused on learning free skate techniques such as basic jumps and spins.
Senior Club Group: Ages 6+, focused on more advanced jumps and spins.
Theater on Ice: Ages 6+, a form of figure skating that combines the grace of figure skating with the excitement of theatre and dance.

Pickleball: Friday, July 12 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Norwood Park.
Wheelchair & Stand-Up Basketball: Friday, July 26 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Zanewood Recreation Center
Cycling: Friday, August 23 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Oak Grove Park
Sports wheelchairs will be provided as needed by Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute's Sports & Recreation Department for pickleball and basketball. Adaptive bikes will be provided as needed by Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute’s Sports & Recreation Department. All bikers will be required to wear a helmet to participate; supply is limited, please bring your own if you have one.

Sanneh Foundation Camps coming to Brooklyn Park
We are excited to be hosting some Sanneh Foundation Sports Camps this summer in Brooklyn Park! We will be hosting FREE sports camps for youth in the community this summer.
Next up is a basketball camp, July 22-25 at the Zanewood Recreation Center for ages 5-14. We will host a pickleball camp for ages 9-16 at Norwood Park From August 12-15.

Summer Rec on the Go
Summer is just around the corner which means Rec on the Go is gearing up for a summer of fun! Will you join us?
Rec on the Go offers a FREE program that delivers recreation opportunities to youth, K–5th grade, throughout Brooklyn Park. To participate, kids must turn 5 years old by June 1, 2024, and be entering kindergarten.
We will host group games, team-building challenges, sports, arts and crafts, and science activities. Local community organizations will partner with us to introduce youth to yoga, educational activities with nature, and live animals. Meals and snacks will be provided to youth 18 years of age and younger. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Young Adult Mentorship Program
Our Employed & Empowered mentorship group is for adults aged 18-24 in the community. You can sign up for the FREE mentoring program HERE. The group meets every Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Zanewood Recreation Center.

2024 Back 2 School: School Supply & Clothing Drive
It’s back! Honored 2 Help’s 4th Annual Back 2 School BBQ! This event is completely FREE for the community, but does require each attending household to register! Register HERE.
(With supplies being limited, please register your household only)
As a collaborative effort, we are able to make this happen with our amazing partners, sponsors, and YOU the community. Collectively, when we put in our efforts to give back, we are able to make a greater impact for our community!
With this said, we are hosting a Backpack/School Supplies/School Clothes Drive from now until August 9, 2024. We need as many donations as possible.
In the last two events, we were able to feed over 3,000 community members, and giveaway over 4,800 backpacks filled with school supplies!
Donation options are as follows:
Backpacks, School Supplies, and NEW or gently used-clean school clothes can be dropped off at one of three drop-box locations.

Discover Softball with Courage Kenny
Wheelchair Softball Camp - July 19, 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
During this camp, athletes can look forward to receiving an introduction to basic skills, participating in drills, and enjoying some games taught by expert coaches and experienced wheelchair softball players.

All Abilities Softball Camp - August 16, 9:30 a.m - 12 p.m.
Come join our inaugural All-Abilities Softball Clinic, offering athletes with cognitive and physical disabilities the opportunity to play together on the field. Athletes will have the chance to acquire basic softball skills and engage in tailored drills and activities.
