 Beginner DSLR Photography Class
Our next Beginners Digital Photography Class begins Thursday, June 6! It will take place from 6-8 p.m. each Thursday in June at the Zanewood Recreation Center! Come learn how to elevate your photography skills from an expert. You can use these skills to enter a dynamic photo in our City-wide photo contest later this year!

 Special Olympics Young Athletes Program
Special Olympics Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities (ID). Young Athletes introduces sport skills including running, balancing, jumping, kicking, and throwing through a series of various games and activities. Some examples include obstacle courses, I Spy, Follow the Leader, Animal Movement Games, and Target Toss and Catch.
Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers, and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. Young Athletes provides children with activities and games that meet their individual skill and ability levels, while allowing them to play together in a fun and inclusive environment.
When: Mondays, June 17-July 22
Time: 4:30-5:10 p.m.

 Beauty Within - Adaptive Art Class
Explore your creative side in our Beauty Within – Adaptive Art Class!
This class is designed for ages 13+ with developmental disabilities. Participants will engage in guided art projects each day that they will take home at the end of class. At the end of the session, participants will create one larger art project together as a group. This class gives participants the opportunity to create art and socialize with their peers in a fun and inclusive environment.
Family Members/ Personal Caregivers are welcome to attend.
All class materials will be provided. Pre-Registration is required.

 Summer Rec on the Go
Summer is just around the corner which means Rec on the Go is gearing up for a summer of fun! Will you join us?
Rec on the Go offers a FREE program that delivers recreation opportunities to youth, K–5th grade, throughout Brooklyn Park. To participate, kids must turn 5 years old by June 1, 2024, and be entering kindergarten.
We will host group games, team-building challenges, sports, arts and crafts, and science activities. Local community organizations will partner with us to introduce youth to yoga, educational activities with nature, and live animals. Meals and snacks will be provided to youth 18 years of age and younger. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

 Summer Fusion
Zanewood is offering an exciting experience for K-5th grade!
Brooklyn Park's Fusion programs have primary activities like sports, painting, jewelry making, gardening, or dance combined with elements of youth leadership and healthy living. This program is designed to be a well-rounded enriching afterschool program your kids will love.
This summer we will also be partnering with Three Rivers Park District providing a 4-day Explore camp from July 22 – 25! Meals and snacks will be provided.
For ages 5-12 years old. Kids must be 5 years old by June 1, 2024 and entering kindergarten to participate. Limited slots are available!
Fee: $75 Resident/ $95 Non-Resident

 Adaptive Rec Fridays
We are excited to announce our upcoming Adaptive Rec Friday schedule for the summer!
Pickleball: Friday, July 12 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at Norwood Park.
Wheelchair & Stand-Up Basketball: Friday, July 26 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Zanewood Recreation Center
Cycling: Friday, August 23 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Oak Grove Park
Sports wheelchairs will be provided as needed by Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute's Sports & Recreation Department for pickleball and basketball. Adaptive bikes will be provided as needed by Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute’s Sports & Recreation Department. All bikers will be required to wear a helmet to participate; supply is limited, please bring your own if you have one.
 Young Adult Mentorship Program
Our Employed & Empowered mentorship group is for adults aged 18-24 in the community. You can sign up for the FREE mentoring program HERE. The group meets every Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Zanewood Recreation Center.
