Keep them safe. Clean them out. Take them back.
This is your chance to clean out your medicine cabinet! We are participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at Brooklyn Park Police Department's North Precinct (5400 85th Ave. N.) this Saturday, April 27.
Proper disposal is important!
- Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem, especially among teens
- Accidental poisonings from medicines are also on the rise.
- Medicines flushed down the drain or disposed of in the trash can contaminate water, harm wildlife, and pollute drinking water.
You can stop in to drop off your unused medicines for proper disposal. Please help share the word with your neighbors - we hope to see you there!
Bring medicine in their original packaging or container. No ID is required.
Accepted
- Prescription medicines, including controlled substances
- Over-the-counter medicines
- Vitamins and supplements
- Pet medicines
Not accepted
- No needles, sharps or syringes
- No medicines from businesses, including healthcare facilities, pharmacies, pharmaceutical representatives, doctors’ offices and veterinary clinics
