Adopting A Park in Brooklyn Park
April 22-26 is Earth Week and a perfect time to volunteer to adopt a park in Brooklyn Park. Our our Adopt-A-Park program offers your organization or family the chance to actively improve our parks and trails. Dive in and make a difference by cleaning up and beautifying a park or trail with the help of our dedicated Recreation and Parks staff. It's not just about having fun; it's about making a real impact in your community. Join us today and be a part of promoting civic responsibility and community pride!
People of all ages and walks of life can be an active part of Adopt a Park program. Youth must have an adult supervisor. Groups could consist of:
- Individuals/families
- Community organizations
- Church groups
- Neighborhoods
- Service Clubs
- Youth groups
- Businesses
- Schools

Upcoming Events: Beautiful, The Carole King Musical - Chanhassen Dinner Theater Wednesday, May 22 | 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Experience the journey of Carole King, the remarkable rise from humble beginnings to a music industry legend. With a compelling storyline, it showcases her collaborations with music icons, her hits, and how her personal struggles lead to her finding her own voice as a singer-songwriter. The show captures the essence of Carole King’s artistry and leaves a lasting impression. Prior to the show, choose from a limited lunch menu of entrée, salad, vegetable, bread, starch, and beverage. Spring Fling Dinner & Dance Thursday, May 2 | 6-8:30 p.m. Put on your dancing shoes for an evening filled dinner and dancing! Music will be provided by ‘Brooklyn Big Band’. Dinner menu, with a Cinco de Mayo theme: Build Your Own Burrito Bowl: Taco season chicken, cilantro lime rice, calypso black beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole, cheese, with chipotle ranch dressing, tortilla chips, dessert and beverages. 2024 Step To It
Get ready to step up your fitness game with the 2024 Hennepin County Step to It Challenge! Whether you're a seasoned stepper or new to the competition, join us for a month-long journey of health and help Brooklyn Park take home first place! Registration is now open, so sign up today and get ready to start logging steps on May 1 to compete for exciting prizes, including Minnesota Twins tickets and autographed bats from baseball legends. Don't miss out on the chance to prioritize your wellness and connect with neighbors in this fun-filled challenge.
When sign up, make sure to select Brooklyn Park as your city, so our community take home the gold! You can create and join additional group(s) to compete against other local neighborhoods, organizations, and more!

Summer Camp Registration
Registration for summer camps in Brooklyn Park are underway. All camp options are open for registration, this includes our youth camps at the Community Activity Center, Northwoods, Norwood, Willowstone, Teen Camps, and Preschool Camps at Historic Eidem Farm.
You can register in three ways: 1. In person at the Community Activity Center 2. Over the phone at 763-493-8333 3. Online HERE
Fee Assistance
Did you know we have fee assistance and scholarships available?
The City of Brooklyn Park provides fee assistance for all residents of Brooklyn Park to participate in programs.
Assistance will reduce fees up to 75% based on income and household size. Additional fee reduction may be available for families experiencing homelessness or for children that are considered wards of the state.
The maximum scholarship amount is $400 per person, per year.
Additional fee assistance is available for Summer Camp and Summer Fusion.
Scholarships are not available for facility use fees, athletic leagues, private lessons, or trips. Learn more HERE.

Cops and Teens Basketball
Come out and watch the annual Cops and Teens Basketball Tournament, April 22 from 5-7 p.m. at the Zanewood Recreation Center. We will be joined by former Minnesota Timberwolves player Troy Hudson and Golden Gopher Parker Fox. We will also have music, concessions, and more!

SAVE THE DATE - Spring on the Farm
Spring on the Farm is fun and FREE for the whole family!
Plant vegetables and flowers in the gardens, greet the new baby animals, explore the grounds, taste the cooking demo on the woodfire stove, and enjoy music from the Jolly Pops (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.) and magic from Magic Tyler! Sit by a campfire, play games in the yard, or make a spring craft.
