Brooklyn Park's Environmental Health Division will be conducting inspections in your neighborhood starting around April 8.
These inspections will focus on specific neighborhoods in the city each year (see the 2024 sweep map), ensuring each property meets minimum ordinance standards. Inspections in your neighborhood will take place over the next several months and consist of the following:
- Addressing city code concerns in residential and business areas
-
Conducting door-to-door property maintenance evaluations of all properties
-
A door hanger will be left if violations are observed
-
If it is noted that your home has a continuing violation that needs to be corrected, a Correction Order will be sent to you.
-
The Correction Order will explain what needs to be done, and allow time to make the necessary corrections.
Proactive sweeps are designed to strengthen and preserve the neighborhoods of Brooklyn Park through joint efforts by residents, businesses, and city staff.
Self-Inspection Checklist
You can review and evaluate the condition of your own property with the Self-Inspection Checklist. This checklist includes some of the issues our inspectors will be looking at. Please help us by planning to correct any issues you find prior to the city's inspection.
