Community Activity Center Improvements
You're invited to learn more about the Community Activity Center Improvements Project! City staff will present information on potential options, providing you with an opportunity to express your opinions. The City Council is expected to revisit the project options later this spring.

 Summer Camp Registration
Registration for summer camps in Brooklyn Park are underway. All camp options are open for registration, this includes our youth camps at the Community Activity Center, Northwoods, Norwood, Willowstone, Teen Camps, and Preschool Camps at Historic Eidem Farm.
You can register in three ways:

 Fee Assistance
Did you know we have fee assistance and scholarships available?
The City of Brooklyn Park provides fee assistance for all residents of Brooklyn Park to participate in programs.
Assistance will reduce fees up to 75% based on income and household size. Additional fee reduction may be available for families experiencing homelessness or for children that are considered wards of the state.
The maximum scholarship amount is $400 per person, per year.
Additional fee assistance is available for Summer Camp and Summer Fusion.
Scholarships are not available for facility use fees, athletic leagues, private lessons, or trips. Learn more HERE.

 Women’s History Month + International Women’s Day Celebration
We are excited to partner with North Hennepin Community College to bring the community an amazing event on Wednesday, March 13 to celebrate Women's History Month and International Women's Day! This is going to be an empowering and inspiring affair!!!
When: Wednesday, March 13
Time: 3-7:30 p.m.
Where: North Hennepin Community College - Center for Business & Technology (CBT) Enter at Door 12
Join us for motivating speakers, an Empowerment Resource Fair, FREE food, and a multicultural fashion show.
Women’s History Month (March) was designated by a presidential proclamation to honor women’s contributions to American history. International Women’s Day (March 8th is a global day celebrating women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements while calling to action - everyone, everywhere - in accelerating women’s equality.
Event Schedule:
2:30-3 p.m.: Check-in and Networking
3-4 p.m.: Keynote Speaker – Ilhan Jama (learn more on her website)
4:15-5:15 p.m.: Panel of Speakers (TBA)
5-7 p.m.: Dinner and Empowerment Fair
6-7 p.m.: Multicultural Fashion Show
7-7:30 p.m.: Post-Show Meet & Greet w/Fashion Designers/Models

We will be collecting donations of UNOPENED feminine products. All donations will be collected for distribution through Period Kits MN.
There will be an opportunity during the event to make period kits to donate to NHCC’s Food Cupboard and other local organizations.
 Movies at the Community Activity Center
We will be hosting two movies this March at the Community Activity Center. Both movies are FREE and there is no registration required. Free popcorn will be served. Guest are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, snacks, and a friend or two!

Community Youth & Family Anti-Violence Game Night
When: Friday, March 22
Time: 5-7 p.m.
Where: Zanewood Recreation Center - 7100 Zane Ave
Will feature board games, card games, video games, food, and raffle prizes. More details will be released closer to the event. This is a FREE community event open to all ages.
 Maple Syruping at the Farm
Have you ever wondered where the syrup you put on your pancakes comes from? Join Farm staff to experience the process of collecting sap from maple trees and turning it into syrup. After, warm up around a bonfire and enjoy a treat with maple syrup!
*Maple Syrup equipment is provided, everyone attending this program must register and pay. Students must be accompanied by a registered adult. $6/participant
