The BBAY is a backbone organization that coordinates the efforts of partners to build a system of high-quality, accessible, and fully resourced opportunities that address systemic disparities in graduation, pathways to college and career and youth safety and wellbeing. The Alliance is a joint powers agreement between the City of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, and the school districts of Osseo, Brooklyn Center, Robbinsdale and Anoka-Hennepin. Ex Officio Members include: Hennepin Technical College & North Hennepin Community College.
The Alliance is seeking Reimagine Black Youth Mental Health Initiative Youth Interns to work closely with Alliance staff in expanding our efforts to positively impact Black youth mental health and wellbeing through narrative-shifting work, ecosystem strengthening work, and policy, systems, and practice change.
This is a seasonal position with a flexible schedule. The Reimagine Black Youth Mental Health Initiative Youth Intern will be an integral team member, whose purpose will contribute to the overall success of programming in 2024. The Youth Intern will need to be creative, self-aware, able to build genuine and meaningful relationships with diverse people, and comfortable with taking direction and initiative to complete work in a high-quality and timely manner. The schedule will be flexible but will require occasional evening and weekend availability.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Internships are grant funded through the Minnesota Department of Health and the project work for the Reimagine Black Youth Mental Health Initiative will continue through the end of August 2024.
