 Snowshoes & S'mores
Explore the farm on snowshoes! Walk the back loop and warm up by the campfire with hot chocolate and s’mores. This is a pre-registration event, limited quantities of snowshoes are provided. Feel free to bring your own if you have them. All ages welcome! Snowshoe available in kid and adult sizes in limited quantities.

 Snow Days at the Farm
Come out to the farm for some wintery fun! The grounds will be open to explore and use for winter activities. Try out our kick sleds and snowshoes, build a snow fort, bring your own winter fun activities, or sit by the campfire! This event is FREE and open to all.
*Snowshoes are available to use, there are limited quantities of adult and child sizes. They will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis.

 Luminary Snowshoe Walk

Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent. We will hike if snow conditions do not allow for snowshoeing. Reservations required by two days prior.

 Zanewood Winter Fun Fest
In partnership with Three Rivers Park District and their Explorer Program, Zanewood is hosting their Winter Fun Fest on Thursday, February 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the Zanewood Recreation Center.

 All Abilities Resource Fair
The City of Brooklyn Park Recreation & Parks Department in partnership with District 279 Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) cordially invites you the 2024 All Abilities Resource Fair on Thursday, January 22 at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center.
The goal of the event is to provide community members of all ages and abilities the opportunity to learn about inclusive community resources, services, and programs that are offered within the community. Some of the areas we are hoping to have represented include but are not limited to: educational and family support, adaptive sports and camps, extra-curricular activities, transition programs, resource groups, housing services, and more.

 Black History Month Showcase

Our Black History Month Showcase is set for Friday, February 23 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Community Activity Center. Tickets are not on sale yet, we will announce that as we get closer to the date.
In addition, we are seeking Black and African American organizations, local artists/makers, and small businesses to participate in our third annual Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks' Black History Month Showcase/Vendor Fair.
The event features a vibrant Vendor Fair, a captivating 1.5-hour program, and delicious food. For just $30 per vendor, you'll get dinner for two people per table, plus the table and chairs.

 Afro-Beats Class
Come and join us for an exciting and energetic Afro-dance class! Our Afro-Beats class has moved to Wednesdays for this sessions and kicks off on January 10. We have a youth class for those ages 5-13 and and an adult class for ages 14+.

In this class, you'll learn various body movements and traditional and contemporary West African dance styles, such as Igbo dances, Sabar, Afrobeat's, Ndombolo, and more. Our instructors, Korma and team, grew up dancing and have over 15 years of experience in performance and choreography. They are highly skilled in African dance styles and love to share their culture through dance.
This class is perfect for those looking for a fun and active way to stay fit, as it incorporates both cardio and strength training exercises. So come ready to move and groove to some great music from the motherland!

 Beauty Within - Adaptive Art
We are excited to announce a new offering in January! We will be offering an adaptive art class called Beauty Within.
The course will run from January 16-February 20. It will meet weekly on Tuesdays, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Community Activity Center. This class is for ages 13+.
Participants will engage in guided art projects each day and will take home at the end of class. At the end of the session, participants will create one larger art project together as a group. This class allows participants to create art and socialize with their peers in a fun and inclusive environment. Family Members/ Personal Caregivers are welcome to attend.

 Virtual Sublimation Course
Take your Cricut skills to the next level with our Virtual Sublimation Class, starting on January 16. The course will run for six consecutive weeks, wrapping up on February 20. The course will meet via Zoom and is open to all skill levels.

 Winter Adventures on the Farm For Homeschool Families
Explore the magic of winter at Historic Eidem Farm! Learn the different historical modes of transportation in the winter and help build a quinzhee hut. Students will use snowshoes, kick sleds, and shovels. Class is aimed towards ages 5 and up.
*Winter equipment is provided, everyone attending this program must register and pay. Students must be accompanied by a registered adult. $6/participant

 Zanewood Fusion - Session 2 Begins January 2

 Rec on the Go: January 9 - March 21
Our Winter Rec on the Go program kicked off this week at Huntington Place and Autumn Ridge Apartments. The program occurs on Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at Huntington Place and on Wednesdays from 4-6 p.m. at Autumn Ridge.
Rec On the Go is a FREE program that brings recreation opportunities to youth (K-5th grade). Rec On The Go will bring programming to locations around the City of Brooklyn Park.
Our goal is to bring our robust program to the community during the Winter for our youth to have tons of fun! We will continue to provide cool, fun, and creative ways to engage with our youth. Some of these activities will include but are not limited to group games, team building challenges, sports, arts & crafts, and science programs your kids will love!
