City of Brooklyn Park Blood Drive
The City of Brooklyn Park will host a blood drive on Wednesday, November 29, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event will take place at the Community Activity Center.

Save the Date - Hmong New Year
This year's Hmong New Year is set for December 2, from 5-9 p.m. at the Community Activity Center. The cost is $5 for the event, there is no availability to buy tickets at the door so you need to register ahead of time.

The event will feature food from Lucky Pearl Cafe, and performances featuring Hmong students and local artists.

Brooklyn Community Band Concert
Come out to the Community Activity Center on Monday, December 4 for a FREE Brooklyn Community Band concert. The show starts at 7 p.m. and will feature many of your favorite seasonal songs!

Swim Assessment Day
Are you looking to sign up for swimming lessons but unsure which level to register for?
Brooklyn Park Aquatics offers a FREE Swim Level Assessment Day on Saturday, December 16, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Jackson Middle School.
Swim level assessment day is for new and returning families (ages 3-12) looking to be assessed on their swim skills. Swimmers will then be given the appropriate swim level to register for based on our program’s affiliation with the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program.
Join us Saturday, December 16th, at the Jackson Middle School Pool (6000 109th Ave N. Champlin 55316). Register for a 15-minute time slot between 2:30-4:30 p.m. HERE.

Youth & Young Adult Health & Wellness Retreat
Join us this December 26-28 at the Zanewood Recreation Center for the Youth & Young Adult Health & Wellness Retreat.
This event is for anyone ages 5-24. There will be three different age groups (5-12, 13-17, & 18-24)
The three-day workshop will equip participants with more knowledge in the following areas: Emotional and Psychological Health and Wellness Physical Health and Self-Care Social well-being and Environmental Health and Wellness Our intent for this retreat is to offer opportunities to increase physical and mental health, improve daily productivity, encourage and boost creativity, and nurture critical thinking skills.
This is an opportunity where youth are introduced to an energizing yet motivating environment with peers as they learn life skills for better health and well-being.
Every session will be one hour long, and participants will rotate to a new activity each hour; each session is tailored to the specific age group the participant belongs to.
**We will provide a light breakfast and lunch each day

Snowshoe & S'mores
When: December 28, 6-7:30 p.m. Where: Historic Eidem Farm
Explore the farm at night on snowshoes! Walk the back loop and warm up by the campfire with hot chocolate and s’mores.
This is a pre-registration event, limited quantities of snowshoes are provided. Feel free to bring your own if you have them. $5/ticket. All ages welcome!
Snowshoes are available in kid and adult sizes in limited quantities.

Our Employed & Empowered mentorship group is for adults aged 18-24 in the community. You can sign up for the FREE mentoring program HERE. The group meets every Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Zanewood Recreation Center.

Afro-Beats Dance
Come and join us for an exciting and energetic Afro-dance class! We have a class for youth ages 5-13 and for those aged 14+, including adults.
In this class, you'll learn various body movements and traditional and contemporary West African dance styles, such as Igbo dances, Sabar, Afrobeat's, Ndombolo, and more. Our instructors, Korma and team, grew up dancing and have over 15 years of experience in performance and choreography. They are highly skilled in African dance styles and love to share their culture through dance.
This class is perfect for those looking for a fun and active way to stay fit, as it incorporates cardio and strength training exercises. So come ready to move and groove to some great music!

Adult Basketball League
Did you hear the news?
We are reviving our Adult Basketball League this winter! The league will feature five-on-five battles with two referees and a scorekeeper. Each team is guaranteed at least seven games and a place in the single-elimination tournament.
The cost is 550.00 per team, and the league will start on December 21. Game times will be 6:15 p.m., 7:15 p.m., & 8:15 p.m. each Thursday night.

Winter Camp at Willowstone Camp
Winter Camp at Willowstone Park offers an exciting Winter Break experience for Kindergarten to Fifth Grade kids. It features a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including tracking wildlife in the snow, sledding, snow fort building, snowshoeing, and ice skating. The camp includes song circles, arts and crafts, nature exploration, board games, and friendly competitions.

CEAP Food Drive
The City of Brooklyn Park is growing a stronger community by supporting CEAP this holiday season! CEAP is a community's food shelf and safety net; this winter they'll be providing toys, gift cards, holiday meal essentials, baking items, and other needed resources to our community.
We are hosting a food drive and will have drop off locations at City Hall and the Community Activity Center. The drive will run from November 8-December 18.
