 Since the fall of 2022 Alliance youth and adult partners have worked to REVITALIZE our collective plan for action. During this time, the voices, views, and wisdom of our youth and adult partners has been gathered through 714 moments.
Through this process we learned that there is a lot of love for the work we have done in the past, and are currently doing together. And, that because of our relationships we are ready to go deeper as we realize our new shared vision:
The Brooklyn Bridge Alliance contributes to the thriving of each young person, particularly those who have been historically marginalized, by challenging inequities and creating conditions that build hope.
Key Shifts (Revitalizations)
- Shift from sole focus on Afterschool, to all settings where youth are.
- Clearly name equity and systems change in our approach.
- Partners named that they need to be clearer about their commitment, areas where they need support, and accountability.
- Partners named that they need BBAY to more strongly facilitate their partnership.
- Ensure our data practices, evaluation and YPAR work centers equity and moves us towards action.

- Focus on youth graduation, pathways to college & career, safety, and well-being.
- Focus on youth who are off-track in each of these areas.
- Take a systemic approach & theory of change.
- Incubate, innovate, co-create, partner, and get to the root causes.

- Shifting from tokenizing to authentic partnership.
