NEW - Small Business Relief Grants The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) is now accepting applications for the $62.5 million Small Business Relief Grants Program for businesses impacted by COVID-19.

New Paycheck Protection Program guidance and forms New Guidance expands eligibility for businesses with owners who have past felony convictions. New PPP Guidance and Forms

Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and Loan Advance. U.S. Small Business Administration reopened the EIDL to all eligible applicants experiencing economic impacts due to COVID-19 today. Visit the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) and EIDL Advance program portal.

Required Preparedness Plans. By June 29th, all businesses including critical businesses must fully implement a COVID-19 preparedness plan. View a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan template.

Returning to restaurants. As of June 1, Brooklyn Park restaurants without permanent outdoor space were able to submit plans to open temporary outdoor space to begin planning how to safely serve customers. We encourage everyone to visit local restaurants and show their support. Find out more.

Small business grants. Governor Walz approved H.F. 5, a bill providing $62 million in grants for small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Eligible businesses with 50 or fewer employees can apply for grants of up to $10,000.

Scammers are taking advantage of fears surrounding COVID-19. Learn more about Coronavirus scams from the Federal Trade Commission. Tips for avoiding these scams:

Hang up on robocalls.

Ignore online offers for vaccinations and home test kits.

Don’t click on or respond to emails asking for personal information in order to receive an economic stimulus check from the government.

Don’t click on links from sources you don’t know.

Don’t click on or respond to emails that claim a positive COVID-19 test within your workplace.

Don’t click on or respond to emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or the World Health Organization.

Scammers posing as utilities have been active in their efforts to take advantage of nervous customers. Please remind your constituents that Xcel Energy (and likely any other public utility) will not cut off service with a phone call. If a customer receives a suspicious call, they should hang up and reach out to us via the internet, mobile application, or contact information found on their bill. Our website www.xcelenergy.com.
