Cleveland Avenue W. Area Street Improvements Update – April 19th, 2024

Underground Work Continues

The weather this week slowed underground progress down, but Ulland was able to hook everyone from 6th Street west to 8th Street, up to the temporary water main. Ulland plans to continue sanitary main installation on 6th Street and then head west on Cleveland toward 8th Street. The City is televising sewer service lines as Ulland passes by each home to determine the condition. The City or Bolton & Menk may need to ask you to drop sewer dye tablets down your toilet to help with locating your active sewer or schedule a time with you to televise from the home out to the street. We have a good understating of the service locations to most homes, but with any construction we find surprises while excavating.

Ulland will attempt to restore access to the driveways at the end of each day as conditions allow but, as you may have seen, rain has a big impact on that possibility. Please have a backup parking plan in place and watch the weather forecast to make decisions on when to park in your driveway at night and when not to. The contractor will do the best they can to accommodate you during construction.

Gas Relocations to Start

Michaels Construction is now working onsite to relocate CenterPoint gas mains. They plan to bore most of the pipe in and will focus on the mainline pipe installation for around 2 weeks before they work on services to each home. Michaels or CenterPoint will coordinate directly with you if there are any gas service interruptions. Typically, there is just one when they hook up your new service and they will relight your pilot lights at that time.
