Dental professionals in the state of MN can resume standard CDC infection control protocols for dentistry as outlined in the Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings.

Masking for source control is not required for patients or staff.

Clinics are required to have infection control protocols in place, which should include training for staff members that are performing infection control procedures.

While COVID-19 still has a presence in the community, the health impacts and mortality rates have changed over the last three years. The Board of Dentistry supports resuming to pre- COVID dental infection control measures and will rely on these requirements for measuring compliance in the event of any clinical inspection by the Board.
