Exam Update

Dear Educator,

The Jurisprudence Exam will be changed to "open book" starting next week. 

Please share information in this bulletin with students. 

INFORMATION IS SPECIFIC TO

INITIAL LICENSURE APPLICATION FOR THE 2022 CALENDAR YEAR

Dental Therapy applicants must pass:

  • Traditional Clinical CDCA DT Examination
  • Or the CDCA CompeDont component, in lieu of patient based restorative; Endodontic (pulpotomy) and Prosthodontic (SS crowns) Manikin components
  • CDCA DT OSCE Examination
  • And Jurisprudence Examination

DDS Applicants must pass:

  • Traditional Clinical Dental Exam (CDCA/WREB/CRDTS/CITA)
  • Or Canadian OSCE (only for Univ. of MN. graduates)
  • Or CDCA CompeDont in lieu of the traditional CDCA patient-based restorative; Endodontic Manikin and Prosthodontic Manikin components
  • And CDCA Dental OSCE
  • And NBDE Examination
  • And Jurisprudence Examination

**The Board will be continuing to visit the discussion regarding acceptance of other non-patient based exams, so please feel free to continue to check back for further updates. The Board no longer requires the periodontal component of examinations for dental candidates.

Dental Hygiene Applicants must pass:

  • Traditional Clinical Dental Hygiene Exam (CDCA/WREB/CRDTS)
  • Or (CDCA/WREB/CRDTS) all-manikin hygiene exam and CDCA Hygiene OSCE or WREB Hygiene OSCE
  • And DBDHE Examination
  • And Jurisprudence Examination
