Thanks for a great season!
The last outdoor market of the season is this Saturday, October 12th, it is always hard to believe 19 weeks can go by so fast. It has been a wonderful season celebrating local food, cooking demo's, art activities, live music and our community!
Thank you to all of our amazing customers who come rain or shine and to all of our vendors for bringing their wonderful products to the Bloomington Farmers Market. It was a tough start to the season but it sure came full circle and is ending with a bumper crop.
Mark your calendars for the two upcoming Indoor Markets - Nov. 9th and Dec. 14th from 9 am - 12 pm inside Civic Plaza.
There is still a great selection of produce available at the market as well as all of your fall favorites!
Joining us this Saturday will be Steve West performing from 10 am - 12 pm. They are sure to keep you warm with their folk/rock and catchy guitar riffs.
Celebrate the season with us and decorate a mini pumpkin with the kids! Join us from 10 am - 12 pm (or while supplies last) to decorate a mini pumpkin to take home.
Coupon: Aspen Ridge Honey Farm is offering customers a FREE honey stick this Saturday so stop by and mention the code Winter Market! Aspen Ridge Honey is located on the NW side of the Market.
Please note: Sisters' Sludge Coffee, Denny's 5th Ave. Bakery & Lorrence's Berry Farm will NOT be at the market this Saturday.
Thank you for all of the food donations for VEAP. As of mid September 13,651 lbs. of food have been donated between the Bloomington, Richfield and Edina Farmers Markets. Clients are thrilled to be able to have fresh produce in their diet (ususally something that is not affordable for them) and have seen positive impacts to their health!
Baked oatmeal stuffed apples - www.yumpower.com

- 2 large firm baking apples, cored (Honeycrisp, McIntosh,)
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups almond milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash and core apples leaving about a 1-inch diameter hole. Place cored apples in a lightly oiled rimmed baking dish, use about a 4 cup dish.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients.
Fill apples with oatmeal mixture, packing it down slightly. Spoon remaining mixture including all liquid into the dish surrounding the apples. Bake, uncovered, for about 35-40 minutes, depending on size of apples. To test for doneness, pierce apple with a bamboo skewer or knife. Apples are done if it slides in easily.
To serve, carefully slice apples in half and top with a scoop of vanilla yogurt or a tablespoon of apple butter and remaining oatmeal from the baking dish.
