Curbside Cleanup will take place between Saturday, April 6 and Saturday, May 4, 2024. During Curbside Cleanup, residents can place limited amounts of appliances, bulky trash, and brush at their curb on an assigned Saturday for collection.

Large appliances and brush are collected for recycling in separate trucks and any remaining items are collected and disposed of in a landfill. Please consider only setting out items that can’t be reused or recycled elsewhere.

Curbside Cleanup is held every two years, on even years only.

Guidelines

  • If "Bulky Item Management Fee" is listed on your utility bill, your home is eligible to participate. Apartments and some town homes may not be included in the program, so contact your management or homeowner's association to see if they pay for the service, or call the City Utility Billing Department at 952-563-8726.
  • Do not put materials out more than two days before your scheduled pickup day.
  • Set your materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on your pickup day.
  • Weight must not exceed 100 pounds per item.
  • Trucks will go through only once on your scheduled day. If you miss your curbside pickup, you will be responsible for disposing of the refuse. You can also call Utility Billing at 952-563-8726 and see if you can schedule a bulky materials pickup for an extra fee.
  • Curbside Cleanup is only for Bloomington residents. Excess materials could cost you more money!

Did you know the City provides a monthly curbside pickup for reusable and recyclable bulky items?

Households with City garbage and recycling service can schedule a monthly pick up of reusable and recyclable bulky items at no extra cost. Items will be picked up the first full week of each month, on the regular garbage and recycling day. There is no extra cost for these items to be picked up. Service is included in the monthly Bulky Item Management Fee on the residential utility bill.

Households can set out furniture, rugs, home fixtures and home building materials in good working condition. Mattresses, large appliances, bikes and large scrap metal items like grills are also accepted in any condition. Items in good condition are sent to Bridging and Better Futures MN. Certain items that are not reusable get recycled at local processing facilities.
