 The October Production Club workshop has been moved to Wednesday, November 6. President and CEO of the Alliance for Community Media Mike Wassenaar will be in the studio via Skype.
Mike is one of the leading advocates for public, education and government access television in the nation. He is going to discuss the current state of public access, including the FCC order, and then open it up for Q&A. Mike is a wealth of knowledge on this subject, so come ready with your questions!
We will have our usual social "hour" at 6:30 p.m., with some light refreshments, and the workshop will begin at 7 p.m. If you would like to attend, please RSVP by contacting BCAT staff or clicking "Going" on the Facebook event page.
 BCAT is now streaming our channel 24/7 on the Cablecast Screenweave app for Roku and Apple TV devices. To watch, simple search for the app and you should find BCAT and the other Bloomington channels listed in the app. The best part is the channel is streaming in high definition! Please help us spread the word on this new viewing feature.
Communications Specialist Ben Vinar submitted a proclamation to both the City of Bloomington and the State of Minnesota to officially recognize Community Media Day, which took place on October 20. Governor Tim Walz signed the State proclamation, and Bloomington Mayor Gene Winstead signed the Bloomington proclamation and presented it at the October 7 City Council meeting.

 These proclamations will help bring visibility to our station and the importance that community media plays not just in Bloomington, but across our state and the country.

 We will host our annual End-of-Year Party for BCAT and SWTV members on Thursday, December 5 at 7 p.m. As in years past, this will be a relaxed gathering of our producers with food, games and fun! It's our small way of saying thank you for all of your hard work in creating your excellent community programming.
