Naturalization ceremony and immigrant art exhibit

In honor of International  Day of Peace on September 21, HRC is planning a Naturalization Ceremony to take place on Friday, September 14 along with the HRC’s Children of Immigrant’s Art Exhibit titled “The American Dream: From the Light to the Darkness.” Activities will take place at the Bloomington Civic Plaza Schneider Theater and lobby.

The exhibits purpose is to encourage safe and respectful conversation that fosters acceptance and dispels misconceptions about immigrants. The hope is to spark empathy and encourage connections to our common humanity. At the ceremony, over 100 individuals from at least thirty (30) different countries will become citizens of the United States. The event reinforces the meaning and importance of being a United States Citizen.
