Shoe Away Hunger collection

Bring new and gently worn shoes to Creekside Community Center between August 27 and September 14. Good in the ‘Hood’s Shoe Away Hunger program is an eco-friendly way to keep shoes out of landfills and support efforts to provide hunger relief. Shoes can be placed in the collection barrel inside Creekside.

The impact is truly amazing. For every one (1) pair of new or gently used footwear received, Shoe Away Hunger can feed one person with up to seven (7) days of essential groceries. Each month over 4,000 hungry twin cities residents are provided with hot meals and essential groceries.

Shoe Away Hunger states “15% of U.S. households are facing food insecurity, and households with children facing food insecurity is at nearly 21%.” Shoe Away Hunger offers a simple and meaningful way to collaborate to eliminate local hunger “one sole at a time.”
