The Human
Services Adults 50+ Program offers art classes at Creekside Community Center in
partnership with Artistry. Classes are led by skilled professionals with
subject matter expertise and a commitment to each student’s development. No
previous art experience required, all materials provided.
Spring Cardmaking Friday, March 16, 1 - 3 p.m.,
$15
Learn techniques for creating
beautiful and unique handmade cards that incorporate painting, collage, printmaking,
and paper constructing techniques. We will customize cards for various
holidays, birthdays, and get ideas for other occasions too. Register by March
9.
Watercolor Paint Exploration Friday, March 30, 1 - 3 p.m.,
$15
Come learn how to paint beautiful
flowers and simple spring landscapes using watercolor paints. We will explore
techniques in color mixing, blending, transparent layering, wet-on-wet
applications, texturizing, and dry brushing. Register by March 23.
Mixed-Media Painting – Spring Flower
Garden Multi-generational Workshop Friday, March 30, 10 a.m. - noon, $15 per project
Come and experiment with different
kinds of painting, drawing, and collage materials to make a unique, colorful
and fun art piece. Various pattern, texture, and mark-making techniques will be
covered and images created on paper and canvas board. Register by March 23.
Children must be 5 years or older to
participate; all children must be accompanied by an adult. Limit 3 children per
adult. Note: an adult who is supervising a child but not creating their own
project does not have to pay to attend.
Clay May Day Baskets Friday, April 13, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.,
$20
Use ceramic handbuilding techniques to
create a unique and handmade vase or May Day basket to hold your favorite
spring flowers. Clay projects will be painted with colorful slips and clear
glazed for finishing (making them water-safe). Projects will be available for
pick-up at Creekside in time for the May Day Flower Design workshop on April
30. Register by April 6.
