Step Into Fitness

The Walking Club traveled 135 miles together throughout last summer. That is more than 270,000 steps!  You won't have to wait until summer to join in on the fun. Take advantage of the many health benefits this year-round walking club has to offer. Enjoy building relationships while staying active, fit, and mobile. Walkers meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. during winter months at the Mall of America. 


Fare For All

Stop by Creekside Community Center Wednesday, January 17, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. for the monthly Fare For All distribution. 

Fare For All provides packages of fresh fruits and vegetables as well as frozen meat items. There are no qualifications or income restrictions. Pay with cash, credit, or EBT. 

Packages:

  • Produce package ($10) - typically includes 5 varieties of fresh vegetables and two varieties of fresh fruits
  • Mini meat pack ($11) - a minimum of four assorted meat items (3 - 5 lbs), does not include pork 
  • Combo pack ($20) - save an extra $1 by combining the produce and mini meat packs
  • Mega meat pack ($25) - typically includes 7 - 9 meat items

Shoe Away Hunger

Shoe Away Hunger

Find a new pair of shoes that will also feed people in need Wednesday, January 17, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Creekside Community Center. 

Shoe Away Hunger is a partnering program where footwear is turned around to provide an eco-friendly means of support for Good in the 'Hoods Feeding the Futures programs. For every one pair of new or gently-used footwear received, the Shoe Away Hunger program is able to feed one more person with up to seven days of essential groceries. 


Artistry: Painting Skills

Artistry

Human Services is partnering with Artistry to bring workshops to Creekside Community Center. Learn how to make great paintings with this upcoming workshop Friday, January 19, 1 - 3 p.m. 

Students will learn about brush handling, color mixing, and various mark-making techniques in both watercolor and acrylic paints. Class is $15. Limited space available.
