Improving human resources services for the grape and wine industry

A survey is being conducted that will be used to evaluate the feasibility and design of a Virtual "One Stop" HR Shop for agri-food employers. This project is in collaboration with The Learning Connection, in Dewitt, MI, and will inform the Collaborative Learning Plan funded by MSU's Center for Regional Economic Innovation (REI).

Please have the person responsible for Human Resources for your winery or vineyard complete the survey by June 24th. The survey can be completed online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2PM3KJJ.

Or print the survey and fax to the Michigan Grape & Wine Industry Council at 517-335-0950 or scan and email to Kristine@knowledgenavigators.com. All responses are confidential.

Stefanie Wirth

Some of you may have received a phone call or email from Stefanie Wirth, a student assistant working with our Grape and Wine team. Or perhaps you met her at the Grape and Wine Conference in February, or the Michigan Wines Showcase in Detroit a few weeks ago.

She is taking a viticulture course through VESTA and gaining practical experience in the vineyard at Burgdorf's Winery in Haslett. This spring, she planted a small number of grapevines (Riesling and Pinot Noir) and is looking forward to gaining even more experience with her own vineyard.
