New event! Park-to-Treat-to-Go

 

Sunday, October 25 from 1-5 pm at the Recreation Activities Center, suggested ages 2-12

​This year we will be trick or treating by parking the car and having the treats come to you! Show off your costume by standing outside of your car and wait for the parade to come to you. The parade will consist of costume characters and local businesses/ nonprofits handing out candy to all of the trick or treaters. Candy buckets will be placed at the front of each parking spot for contactless distribution.

Thursday, October 15 from 10:30-11:30 am, outside of the Recreation Activities Center, ages 3-6

Join our Naturalist for story book time then enjoy a hike with activities related to the book and a craft. Our featured book will be Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Follow Leaf Man’s journey to see where the wind takes him and what he finds as he is blown about. After we finish the book we’ll take a walk through the woods collecting our leaf man.

Please come prepared and dressed to spend the day outside. Fee is per child. Adult supervision is required during the entire program. No charge for adults.

We’re still celebrating the Centennial of the Women’s Right to Vote, 1919-2019. Join us virtually as Jamon Jordan, of Black Scroll Network History & Tours, shares stories of the Great Black Women in Detroit’s history, including the Underground Railroad, Civil Rights Movement, Labor Movement and more. Register to receive a Zoom link.

Program offered in collaboration with the Greater West Bloomfield Historical Society. This live program will be recorded.

Group Hayrides

October 14, 15 or 16, 2020 at Marshbank Park, ages 1+

Experience the changing seasons at Marshbank Park while enjoying a 20-minute, tractor-drawn hayride. You’ll encounter a few nature knowledge stops along your route for added adventure. Take your picnic blanket and find a cozy spot to enjoy cider and a seasonal treat. There will be a to-go craft kit too! The registration fee is for one timeslot that includes a private hayride for your group of 20 maximum people, cider and treat, craft and four roll up picnic blankets. This program and the fee has been adapted to meet COVID guidelines; your hayride is private for your selected group of 20 people.

4:00P, 4:30P, 5:00P, 5:30P, 6:00P, 6:30P, 7:00P, 7:30P

Cost: $100 for residents, $115 for nonresidents
