Polar Party

Saturday, January 25 from 1-5 pm at the Recreation Activities Center, ages 3+

Our Polar Party features winter-themed activities for the whole family to enjoy!

The event includes:

  • Live Animal Show: Meet Elsa the Lynx from Siberia, Sven the Arctic Fox and more! 
  • S'more roasting
  • Snowman building contest
  • Craft station
  • Ice sculptures
  • Winter Games
  • Snowshoeing
  • Monkey Business Food Truck will be on hand to sell warm drinks and treats.
  • The Water Resources Commissioner, Jim Nash, will have the "Dirt Doctors" on site with fun activities.
  • Balloon animals provided by The Kashat Team of Keller Williams

Live Animal Show times are 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm. Other activities are ongoing from 1-5pm and can be enjoyed before and after your scheduled animal show time.

puppy training

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Training

 

Thursdays, 1/16-2/20 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Community Room at Drake Sports Park. There is a free orientation on 1/9 that is required to take the class.

Socialization, training, activity and a responsible owner are the four keys to having a happy, healthy and well-behaved puppy. Puppy socialization and training should start as soon as you bring the puppy home. In this class, you will learn how to potty train your dog, how to deal with puppy biting, handling exercises and basic commands. Our trainer will also guide you on how to properly socialize your dog to create a future Canine Good Citizen. At the end of class, you will take a test to earn your puppy the AKC STAR Puppy Award. All family members are welcome to join. Bring small, bite-size soft treats, collar or harness and a non-retractable 4-6 ft. leash.
