Enjoy a kayak trip down the scenic Clinton River

Thursday, July 11 from 4:30-8:30 pm, ages 18+

Paddle the Clinton River, a calm flowing, beautiful river close to home, just 25 minutes from our Recreation Activities Center. Receive a brief kayak lesson on how to successfully enter, exit and paddle. Our Naturalist will accompany you as your own personal guide. This is a three hour leisurely paddle with a bus ride to and from the launch. Choose single or double sit-upon kayaks at registration. Fee is per person (not per kayak). All equipment is provided, including life jackets.

Summer-on-the-Bank is Saturday, July 13th and we need volunteers!

Join us at our second Summer on the Bank! This is the perfect way to volunteer for a fun summer event with the community. Volunteers are needed to help with supervising water inflatables, helping at the fishing pier, run large inflatable games and other general stations. The event runs from 11 am-3 pm but the volunteer shifts are from 9:30am - 3:15pm.

Trip: Frank Lloyd Wright - Smith House and Lunch

Thursday, July 18 from 9:45 am - 2:30 pm, meet at the Recreation Activities Center, ages 50+

Take a tour and get a unique view of the Smith House, a custom Usonian home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the 40s. During the tour, you will view the inside of the home, its landscape and learn more about the couple who purchased it. Lunch will be on your own at the Cranbrook Institute of Science Cafe. Transportation to and from the Recreation Activities Center is included. This trip is sponsored by the Senior Resource Group through the West Bloomfield Chamber.
