Marshbank Park is the place to be Wednesdays in July!

 

Join us along with hundreds of your neighbors for the Marshbank Music Series 2.0 held on the concert hill at Marshbank Park. The event series features two bands each night, rotating food trucks and a beer/wine tent! Each event runs from 5:30 - 9:00 pm.

​2019 Concert Dates:

  • July 17 - DownRiver Dan & Power Play Detroit
  • July 24 - Paddlebots & Laughing Madmen
  • July 31 - Stardusters & Detroit Soul Revue

The beer and wine tent is provided by and in support of the Lakeland Youth Baseball League. Food and alcohol service begins at 5:30 pm. The first band starts at 6:30 pm. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the fenced area. You're welcome to bring lawn chairs into the area or sit on the picnic tables provided. 

​Brother Truckers and D & W's Street Eatery will be the food trucks attending every concert. There will also be new trucks featured each week. Visit the link below for a complete list.

Registration for fall soccer (ages 3-6) is now open!

 

Saturdays 9/14-10/19 at Keith Sports Park

Soccer is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, exercise and socialize in a group environment. A fun, 6 week, introduction to soccer focusing on the delivery of immersive and interactive games and adventures developed by professional soccer organization, Challenger Sports. Includes games and activities to introduce and develop coordination, balance, running, stopping, turning, kicking, dribbling and throwing. Shirts and balls provided but players must provide their own shin guards. Ages are as of 9/1/19. Must register by July 12.

Flower Power

 

Join us for a "Flower Power" afternoon in the Nature Room!

 

Monday, July 1 from 1-4 pm in the Nature Room, ages 4-7. Registration deadline is 6/28.

Calling all gardeners! Come and join our Nature Camp Staff for a fun half day in our sensory garden and along our trails. Your child will learn the parts of a plant, how to plant a garden and the importance of wildflowers and pollinators. Campers will also go on a wildflower hunt, decorate their own planter and have a flower seed to take home and grow. Bring a water bottle and a snack.

Orchard Mall Space

WB Parks partners with Orchard Mall to open dedicated senior services location

 

We are excited to announce that we will be moving all of our senior services to a 7,200 square foot retail space at Orchard Mall, located on Orchard Lake Rd, north of Maple Rd. The West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation Commission approved the lease during their televised meeting on May 23, 2019. Construction on the new space will begin as soon as building permits are issued, with the renovation project costing a total of $141,000. The new space is slated to open by the end of the year. Click the article below for more information on the project.
