Summer Camp registration is open!

 

Many of our popular camps are already half full!

Our action-packed day camp, Camp WB, features unique arts and crafts projects, sports, games, swimming, trips to Marshbank Park for canoeing, fishing and nature education and field trips to new and exciting destinations weekly. 

We also offer a full slate of outdoor educational camps for the nature-lover in your family. Our Nature Camps can include critter encounters, archery, kayaking, zip lining, hikes and interactions with the live animals that call our Nature Room home. Our camps are some of the most affordable options in the area and are led by passionate, highly-trained counselors. 

We also offer a variety of specialty camps including sports, arts and technology. Register by June 1 and save $10 off each week of camp!

Firearm Safety

 

Firearm Safety: Basic CPL

 

Sunday, April 7 from 8:00 am-6:00 pm at the WB Police Department, ages 18+

This course teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family. It satisfies all of the training requirements to obtain your Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL). Topics include controlling violent confrontations, firearms and the law. Instructors are full-time officers, NRA and state-certified firearms instructors who have attended some of the top ranked firearms schools in the country. Receive your CPL certification from the experts at the West Bloomfield Police Department! Firearm and ammunition provided at no additional cost. Pizza lunch provided.

Tuesday, April 2 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm at the Recreation Activities Center

Looking for something outdoors to keep your kids on their toes during spring break? Send them on a nature adventure not too far from home! We will meet in the Nature Room and load our bus to go to Marshbank Park where your kids will learn the fundamentals of fishing. Your child will also be making their own fishing craft to take home. The rest of the afternoon will be spent with our Naturalist meeting animals that live in the Nature Room and going on a hike.

Rain Barrel Workshop

 

Sunday, April 28 from 2:00-3:30 pm at the Recreation Activities Center, ages 18+

April showers bring summer flowers if you use rain barrels! Learn about the benefits of rain barrels and put one together. Reduce storm-water runoff, save money on your water bill and help your plants by providing them with pure rain water that garden plants prefer, free of salts and other additives. Cost includes instruction and education as well as a rain barrel (all parts included).
