Superhero party

Calling all Marvel comic book fans!

 

Friday, November 2 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Recreation Activities Center

A couple of your child’s favorite superheroes, Captain America and Spiderman, will be hosting a party. The superheroes will perform and show off their cool moves. There will be superhero group training and photo opportunity following that. Also, a party isn’t a party without balloon swords and a little sword fighting with their favorite hero. Parents must stay for the entire party.

Our seasonal SWAN (Seniors Walking About in Nature) Walk is October 25th

 

Thursday, October 25 from 2-3:30 pm, meet at the Lodge at Marshbank Park

Are you a SWAN? Seniors Walking About in Nature (SWAN) is a new program series we will be offering each season. These seasonal programs will offer seniors (those 50+) a great way to exercise and enjoy the beauty of nature. This season’s topic is smells. What smells do we associate with fall? Pumpkins, apples and cinnamon just to name a few. This program will include a 45 minute walk along our unpaved nature trail which includes some hills and uneven ground. Light refreshments will be served afterwards.

Join us for FREE the Senior Health Fair TOMORROW!

 

Thursday, October 18 from 9 am-3 pm at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital 

As we age, our health and wellness needs change. We look to experts (doctors, fitness instructors, dietitians and more) for how we can make changes that fit into our lifestyles. Attend our annual Senior Health and Wellness Expo for the opportunity to come face-to-face with these experts, learn more about a variety of health-related issues and get advice on fitness activities. The first 200 participants will receive a free lunch voucher for Henry's Cafe. There will be a free shuttle leaving from Drake Sports Park.

Open Hours

Join us for FREE Nature Room Open Hours this Saturday from 1-4 pm!

 

The Nature Room is located inside the Recreation Activities Center. You can explore and enjoy hands-on activities, educational displays, read nature-themed story books under the insect canopy and visit live animals. Seventy plus acres of natural land behind the building offer great nature trails to walk and explore. Our Naturalist will be on hand to answer your nature questions and help you make a craft.
