Splash, jump, listen, eat and more at Summer on the Bank!

Saturday, July 14 at Marshbank Park from 11 am - 3 pm

Find your swimsuit, beach towels and sunscreen; Summer on the Bank is almost here! Presented by Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, this brand new summer festival will have free entry, water inflatables, free and pay-to-play activities, live music and food trucks!

Live entertainment by Universal Xpression and West African Drum & Dance will begin at 11 am and last until the festival ends at 3 pm. Make sure to remember cash for the pay-to-play activities and socks for the inflatables. Activities include paddle sports, fishing, pony rides, giant water inflatables, a petting farm, face painters and more!

Insect Safari

 

Wednesday, 7/11 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Recreation Activities Center, ages 3+

Put your hat on and grab a net! With the help of our Naturalist, you'll catch, observe and release insects. You will make and take home your own insect investigation tool, explore our Outdoor Natural Play Area and get up close and personal with six-legged creatures by checking out our mounted insects.

Registration is required for all adults and children.

Sunset Pick Your Paddle

 

Tuesday, 7/17 from 6:45-8:15 pm at Marshbank Park, ages 16+

Discover the fun of paddling on scenic Cass Lake. Upon arrival, receive a brief lesson on how to successfully enter, exit and paddle your watercraft. At registration, based on availability, you can choose from a double or single sit-upon kayak and stand-up paddle board. Our Naturalist will accompany you as your own personal guide while you enjoy the views of nature from the water.

Make Beats Camp

7/9-7/13 at Schulak Farm from 9 am-12 pm, ages 11-14

Your camper will be introduced to beat making through the use of applications. By the end of the week, campers will be proficient in the basics of creating electronic music. Lessons will be provided by an instructor from Axis Music.

The registration deadline is 7/3.
