Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Application Reminder

Students who are interested in the Children of Veterans Tuition Grant (CVTG) must complete an initial application (one time only) electronically on the MiSSG Student Portal. Student instructions are as follows:

Create and sign into the MiSSG Student Portal. Select 'Scholarship and Grant Applications.' Select 'CVTG 2023-2024 Application.' Provide requested information. Save. Upload requested documentation via the Document Management tool.

If a student is not able to electronically submit the CVTG application on the MiSSG Student Portal, they may contact MI Student Aid at 888-447-2687 to complete the application over the phone.

Paper applications are no longer accepted. Please dispose of any remaining paper applications you may have.

For renewal of CVTG, students must do the following:

• Submit the current-year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (required annually). 
• Maintain Michigan residency.
• Be an undergraduate student.
• Enroll at least half-time at a participating institution.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.25.
• Meet their institution’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy.

Review and Update CVTG Lead Contact Information in MiSSG

In an effort to have the most up-to-date contact information for lead contacts processing State financial aid programs at your institution, please review and update your institution's School Profile for CVTG in MiSSG. 

Log into MiSSG. Select 'Children of Veterans Tuition Grant' from the MiSSG Menu. Select 'School Profile.' Update. Review and update contact information. Save.
