MiSSG is Now Available for Michigan GEAR UP Scholarship
We are excited to announce MiSSG is now available for authorized School Users to access Michigan GEAR UP Scholarship. If you do not have access to the new MI GEAR UP in the MiSSG Menu and need to, please work with your Financial Aid Director to complete the required MiSSG College Security Access Form.
This program is active in MiSSG beginning with Academic Year 2023-24; however, only nominated MI GEAR UP participants will be eligible to be considered for a scholarship. Institutions should begin reviewing the 'Eligible Students Report' of the MI GEAR UP students who plan to attend their institution this fall.
MI GEAR UP Scholarship:
• Is administered by Student Scholarships, Grants and Outreach (SSGO).
• The scholarship is a maximum of $2,000 per year ($1,000 per semester) for two years.
• The scholarship is not tuition specific; therefore, can be used for other educational costs.
• If a student has TIP and MI GEAR UP Scholarship, TIP can be applied to tuition/mandatory fees and MI GEAR UP Scholarship can be applied to other costs that are not tuition specific.
Please review both the Eligible Students Report and Ineligible Students Report to clear ineligible reasons, if applicable.
