Uniform Chart of Accounts Exposure Draft

Attached, please find five documents:

1. UCA 202001 Marked Up.pdf
This document shows the entire chart of accounts with the changes since the last version clearly marked. This should be used when conveying your comments to us. Please note the page number with your comments.

2. UCA 202001 Clean(er) Version.pdf
This document is a cleaner version of the chart of accounts without the changes showing. For some, this may be easier to review.

Keep in mind that neither version (1. or 2. above) can be formatted perfectly until finalizing the document. Track changes necessarily impacts pagination and other formatting. There is no need to point these items out since we will fix them in the final version. We appreciate your patience when reviewing them.

3. UCA Revisions.pdf
This is a small two-page document that will show the more significant changes that were made.

4. UCA Implementation Dates.pdf
This document clarifies when implementation is mandatory.
The first month of implementation has changed from September to October. Consequently, the first fiscal year end that needs to implement is for October 31, 2021 which begins on November 1, 2020.

Our next Chart Chat will soon be announced. We are currently testing webinar software that will make the meeting go much better. We will also discuss our survey results.

Exposure Draft Date: January 24, 2020

Deadline for written comments: February 24, 2020

The Uniform Chart of Accounts for Local Units of Government which consists of counties, cities, villages and townships, and authorities and commissions established by counties, cities, villages and townships, dated April 2017 (version 1704.1), has been revised by the Community Engagement and Finance Division of the Michigan Department of Treasury.

 

Any individual or organization that would like to submit comments should provide those comments in writing by the deadline stated above to the Michigan Department of Treasury, Community Engagement and Finance Division at lafd_audits@michigan.gov with the subject line entitled “Exposure Draft - UCA.” Alternatively, responses may also be submitted via U.S postal service to PO Box 30728, Lansing, Michigan 48909-8228. Please refer to the marked-up version when corresponding with our department.
