In a month and a half, Johnson stopped in at 13 branch offices across the state, ranging from the Sault Ste. Marie office to the Southwest Detroit PLUS Office. At several of the visits, she helped present certificates of appreciation from Gift of Life Michigan for offices that are leading the way in registering new organ donors.

“This year we’re excited to welcome the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office to the park,” said Susan Diepen, assistant director of the South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce. “The craft fair draws about 15,000 people into the park every year, so this is a great opportunity for the Secretary of State’s office to reach many people in the community to let them know about the online services available.”

Self-Service Stations set record in July

Customers performed more than 56,000 transactions on Secretary of State Self-Service Stations in July, a record in the 100-month history of the program.

The kiosks, available in 77 locations across Michigan -- including branch offices, community centers, a credit union and even two Meijer stores -- allow vehicle owners to renew their tabs and be on their way in less than two minutes.

Tip: If you do not have your renewal paperwork on hand, you can still renew using the machines by entering the vehicle's license plate number and the first letter of the first name of the vehicle's registered owner.
