Secretary of State Detroit East 8 Mile office to close for remodeling Apr. 12-19
Customers urged to do business online or at alternative offices
DETROIT, Mich. – The Secretary of State office at 9560 E. 8 Mile Road in Detroit will be closed for remodeling Apr. 12-19.
Customers and staff will benefit from renovations that include a new counter design, new carpeting and renovated restrooms. The office will reopen on Monday, Apr. 22 at 9 a.m.
Customers who need to renew license plates, renew or replace driver’s licenses and ID cards, change their address or obtain duplicate titles or registrations are encouraged to do the transactions online at www.ExpressSOS.com. Additional services are offered online as well.
Area residents who need Secretary of State services during the remodeling period may also visit the next closest offices:

SW Macomb County PLUS, 28220 Dequindre Rd., Warren
The Detroit East and Southwest Macomb County PLUS offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Detroit SUPER!Center has the same hours as PLUS offices and is also open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Detroit Livernois office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
