
Secretary Johnson to visit
Floyd Elementary, then SOS office in Midland on Thursday
WHO: Secretary of State Ruth Johnson Rod Dishaw, principal, Floyd Elementary School Fourth-grade teacher Jessica Reder and students, Floyd Elementary School
WHAT: Johnson will read to the class and talk about the importance of having strong reading skills in observance of National Reading Month.
Later Thursday, Johnson will visit the Midland Secretary of State branch office to meet with customers and staff. She will be available to speak with media about recent initiatives, such as a veteran designation on driver’s licenses.

2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Midland Secretary of State Office 1832 N. Saginaw Road Midland
WHY: During March, schools stress the importance of reading for future success in academics and in the workplace, and invite guests in to read to children. Johnson plans to read the book “The Troll of Mackinac” by K.C. Thorne.
