Qualified Voter File (QVF) Multifactor Authentication Update

Thank you to the large number of Qualified Voter File users who have already enabled Multifactor Authentication (MFA) on their QVF accounts.  This includes those jurisdictions who received their Yubikeys by November 20, 2021 and were required to enable their MFA upon login starting on January 19. Thanks to your work, the QVF is even more secure!

Another group of QVF users who received Yubikeys between November 21 and December 15, 2020, has until January 29, 2021 to enable MFA on their accounts. MFA will be automatically enabled by the QVF software upon login beginning February 1, 2021. Please refer to the MFA materials found under the QVF Help Menu for additional reference. For more information about printing in Google Chrome, see the Troubleshooting Guide.

Some jurisdictions have noticed that a quantity of Yubikeys have been assigned to the jurisdiction but have not yet arrived. We are working with the vendor to purchase more Yubikeys and will send them as soon as possible.  We will email you when they are in the mail.

To distribute the load and QVF Help Desk support calls, we are requesting that you work with your User Administrator (usually the Clerk or Deputy Clerk or designee) to enable MFA according to your Yubikey delivery date. Please refer to the Yubikey schedule below and enable by your designated due date.

The schedule is as follows:

Yubikey Received By/Between Date

Enable MFA Due Date

November 20, 2020

January 18, 2021

November 21 and December 15, 2020

January 29, 2021

December 16 and February 1, 2021

February 26, 2021

Thanks for your proactive action to ensure that the QVF is even more secure.

New CISA Resource: Reduce the Risk of Ransomware

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has launched a new cybersecurity campaign, Reduce the Risk of Ransomware. The online page, including a Ransomware Guide developed with the Multi-State Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) has a number of resources to assist government units in learning about, preventing, and responding to ransomware attacks.
