Debunking Misinformation, Myths, and Rumors

In response to various misinformation that is circulating regarding the 2020 Election, clerks have a number of resources at their disposal:

CISA Rumor Control Page.  According to the Federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), this webpage is for people with questions about the security of their vote and preemptively debunks potential areas for disinformation. It is maintained by CISA in the Department of Homeland Security.

SOS Fact Check Page. This webpage debunks misinformation about conduct of elections in Michigan. It is maintained by the Michigan Department of State.

Joint Statement from the Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council and Sector Coordinating Council Executive Committees, which includes the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) and the National Association of State Election Directors (NASED). This includes the following statement: “The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history.”
