SOSLive, Second of its kind, is coming to Oakland County
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson wants you to come explore her alma mater, have fun and maybe learn something new about her department at Oakland Community College (OCC). SOS Live is a free family expo that is part of OCC’s Open House event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at OCC’s Auburn Hills campus.
“SOSLive is a free, fun, family expo designed to entertain and show you the kinds of Secretary of State and our partners’ services that are available to every community in Michigan,” Johnson said, adding that the event is the second of its kind ever presented by the Secretary of State’s Office. “There’s plenty to do and see. We’ll even have the Mobile Branch Office there open for business.”
SOSLive will feature driving simulators, interactive games, technology demos, job opportunities, brand new voting machines and information on Michigan Department of State and partners’ programs and services.
“Our Department is known as the face of state government because we interact with millions of Michigan residents each year. At SOSLive, you can get business done with us on a Saturday and enjoy a fun and interesting showcase of all the Secretary of State’s office has to offer,” said Johnson.
“OCC is very pleased to partner with the Secretary of State for our Admissions Open House event. Partnerships like this with SOSLive are critical to serving our community. By combining our resources, we can provide a wealth of information about the College and the Secretary of State’s services in one, high quality event,” said OCC Chancellor Peter Provenzano.
Along with OCC, the Secretary of State’s Office will partner with Michigan Center for Truck Safety, the Isabella County Sheriff, the Trauma Coalition, Nationwide, Lifesaver, Intoxalock, Smart Start, CARFIT, William Beaumont Hospital and the Transportation Improvement Association.
