Residents can renew driver’s licenses, register to vote

The Secretary of State Mobile Office is returning to the Upper Peninsula State Fair to assist customers, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today. The fair runs from Monday, Aug. 13 through Sunday, Aug. 19.

“We’re pleased to again serve attendees of the U.P. State Fair,” Johnson said. “You can renew your driver’s license or license plate tabs, register to vote, renew your watercraft registration and much more, all while celebrating all the U.P. has to offer.”

The state fairgrounds are located at 2401 12th Ave. North in Escanaba. The Mobile Office, which offers most of the services of a standard office, will be located in the Ruth Butler Building. It will be open Monday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

Other services offered by the Mobile Office include address changes, signing up on the Michigan Organ Donor Registry and much more. Residents can also ask questions about the elimination of Driver Responsibility Fees, including those who have associated debt or a related driver’s license suspension.
