WHY:
Michigan’s new voting equipment will be used this November in 75 counties across the state — including Bay, Genesee, Lapeer, Midland, Shiawassee and Tuscola counties — with all counties using them next year.

Johnson will discuss how Michigan will continue using optical-scan voting systems that feature a paper ballot but voters will start seeing new machines at their precincts. The election officials also will discuss added security features of the new systems and how voters will benefit.
