Update Clerk Contact Information in QVF & Merit Election Email Forwarding

We recommend that all Clerks take a look at their Clerk Contact Information in QVF this time of year. This information is used in many capacities (MVIC, FVAP, etc.) to provide your voters your contact information.

In addition, verify your Merit Election Email account is forwarding to the appropriate staff members.

The following reference material is available to assist:

If you are not a QVF user, work with your County Clerk to complete these steps.

Remember, if you have new staff members and/or staff changes, please be sure to complete the Election Account Request form so we can activate and deactivate eLearning and QVF/EMP accounts accordingly.

School Election Plans

School District Election Coordinating Committees must meet in January or early February of 2017.  MCL 168.305(2) requires School District Election Coordinating Committees to meet every four years to review and, if necessary, alter the election arrangements set forth in its previous report.  This report must be sent to the Bureau of Elections for each school district, regardless if any changes were made or not.  These meetings are organized by the election coordinator.  For school districts located in more than one city or township, the election coordinator is the County Clerk where the largest number of school district electors reside.  For school districts wholly contained in a single city or township, the election coordinator is the clerk of the city or township where the district is located.

It is important to review the challenges of your current plans and adjust accordingly.  The Bureau of Elections has been invited to present on this topic January 24th at the MACC conference in Bay City.   In the meantime, please review the 2017 School District Election Coordinating Committee Meeting Guide.  You may also find basic School Election Coordinating Committee Plan templates at the following links:
