September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to a topic that touches nearly every community, whether or not it's openly discussed. This month, we'll focus on suicide prevention: recognizing warning signs, understanding risk factors, and knowing how to respond when someone is struggling. Suicide is preventable, and awareness plays a real role in that prevention, whether it's a friend checking in, a
coworker noticing a change, or a community investing in accessible mental health resources.

Recovery Fest will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 3-6pm at Salvation Army in Holland! Join us for Food, Family Fun, T-Shirts, Community Resources, and MORE!

Walk A Mile 2026 is taking place at the State Capitol Building in Lansing on Wednesday, September 23, from 12pm to 3pm. This event aims to defeat the stigma around mental health with advocacy, speakers, resources, & a walk around the complex with CMH members from around the state!

The Contracts Team creates, executes, updates & manages the Contracts CMHOC has with our Provider Network. Contracts staff also participate (and oftentimes lead) several internal & external meetings and work closely with Lakeshore Regional Entity staff. In addition, Josh acts as backup to the front desk at A-Building.
The Training Team is responsible for ensuring CMHOC and Provider Network staff have access to all required trainings and managing the Training Platform. In addition, the Training Team also offers consultation to provider agency staff, when requested.

Any restriction to a recipient’s freedom of movement must be approved by CMHOC’s Behavior Treatment Review Committee & shall not be restricted more than necessary to provide services and to prevent injury to self or others.
