OCCAA (Ottawa County Community Action Agency) is seeking qualified contractors to support its Weatherization Assistance Program by conducting Energy Audits and Quality Control Inspections for households in Ottawa County.
These paid contract positions play a critical role in improving energy efficiency, reducing utility costs, and ensuring safe, healthy living conditions for local families.
Energy Audits typically take approximately 4–5 hours per home and involve a comprehensive assessment of the house’s energy performance. Quality Control Inspections generally take about 2 hours and ensure that completed weatherization work meets program standards and delivers measurable energy savings.
Required Qualifications: Contractors must hold a BPI Energy Auditor certification or a combined BPI Energy Auditor/Quality Control Inspector certification. Contractors who currently hold a Building Analyst certification are also encouraged to apply. OCCAA can assist qualified candidates with a BA certification in obtaining the required BPI certification. In addition, contractors will need:
These additional certifications can be completed in approximately two days, and OCCAA can assist contractors in obtaining them.

OCCAA’s Weatherization Program is made possible through the federally funded Weatherization Assistance Program, which helps income-eligible households reduce energy burdens and improve overall home performance.
