Ottawa County Outdoor Warning Siren Test - July 4th
[WEST OLIVE/OTTAWA COUNTY] — This Friday, July 4 at 12:00 PM, our community’s outdoor warning sirens will sound as part of our regularly scheduled monthly system test.
Yes, we know—it’s Independence Day, and while most people celebrate with flags, fireworks, and freedom, our sirens prefer to show their patriotism with a good ol’ fashioned test blast.
Please note: This is only a test. No action is required unless actual emergency conditions exist at that time.
The siren system is designed to alert residents who are outdoors of immediate danger, such as severe weather or other public safety threats. Testing helps ensure the system is fully operational in case it’s ever needed in a real emergency.
So if you hear the sirens at noon on the Fourth of July, don’t panic—just tip your hat, salute the sky, and know that even our emergency systems are feeling a little extra American this week.
