Weekly Construction Update: May 9, 2025

This email update contains current and planned road closures, and construction projects overseen or managed by the Ottawa County Road Commission for the upcoming week. Road Closure: Ferris St., 152nd Ave. to 160th Ave., Grand Haven Twp., closed May 12-16

DURATION: May 12-16, 2025

WHERE: Ferris St., 152nd Ave. to 160th Ave., Grand Haven Twp.

WHY: Culvert Replacement

BACKGROUND: Starting Monday, May 12, 2025, contractors for the Ottawa County Road Commission will close Ferris St. between 160th Ave. and 152nd Ave. for a culvert replacement project.

This project is estimated to be completed by May 16, 2025, however all work is weather dependent and completion dates are subject to change.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: The road will be closed to through traffic. The posted detour route will be 160th Ave. to Lincon St. to 152nd Ave.

Local traffic will be able to reach Forest Park Dr. from 152nd Ave., and Acacia Dr. from 160th Ave.

Road Resurfacing: Ferris St., U.S. 31 to 152nd Ave., Grand Haven Twp., begins May 12

DURATION: May 12-30, 2025

WHERE: Ferris St., U.S. 31 to 152nd Ave., Grand Haven Twp.

WHY: Road Resurfacing

BACKGROUND: Beginning May 12, 2025, contractors for the Ottawa County Road Commission are tentatively scheduled to begin work on a resurfacing project on Ferris St. between U.S. 31 and 152nd Ave. in Grand Haven Twp.

This project will consist of milling existing asphalt, adding a paved shoulder for a new road width of 30 feet, resurfacing with 2 lifts of new asphalt, and gravel shoulder restoration.

All work is weather dependent, and dates can be subject to change.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: The road will remain open to through traffic, with traffic being maintained using temporary lane closures under flag control during work hours. Be prepared for possible delays when traveling through this area.

Road Closure: Hoover St., 16th Ave. to 24th Ave., Chester Twp., closed May 12-14

DURATION: May 12-14, 2025

WHERE: Hoover St., 16th Ave. to 24th Ave., Chester Twp.

WHY: Culvert Replacement

BACKGROUND: Starting Monday, May 12, 2025, the Ottawa County Road Commission will be closing Hoover St. between 16th Ave. and 24th Ave. for a culvert replacement project.

This project is estimated to take 2-3 days to complete, however all work is weather dependent and completion dates are subject to change.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: The road will be closed to through traffic. The posted detour route will be 16th Ave. to Truman St. to 24th Ave.
