Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), also known as “bird flu,” has been found in a dairy herd in Ottawa County. The known risk to humans is low, but we are sharing the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development’s (MDARD) press release so you can be aware and take precautions if needed. If you suspect HPAI or any other reportable animal disease in your domestic animals, contact MDARD right away at 800-292-3939 (daytime) or 517-373-0440 (after-hours).
