The community is invited to Recovery Fest 2023 on Thursday, September 21 from 3 to 7 pm at the Holland Civic Center. The event is free thanks to local resource providers and generous donors. This year, Recovery Fest features opportunities for networking and growing connections, booths to learn about recovery recourses and agencies in our area, a T-shirt design contest with free winning design imprinted T-shirts for adult attendees, some fun activities for children and families, free snacks, and more.

Recovery Fest is Ottawa County’s celebration of National Recovery Month, recognized in September across the country. Since 2004, Recovery Fest has been uniting the community to mark the importance of treatment and recovery for mental health and substance use disorders. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, nearly one in three adults had a substance use disorder or a mental illness in the past year.

“We are excited to present this celebration to the community,” said Emily Achterhof, Recovery Fest Committee Co-chair. “This year we are combining a networking focus with some family-friendly activities. Everyone is welcome. So, bring the kids and come join the celebration!”

“We thank everyone who has supported Recovery Fest this and every year,” Achterhof added. “Celebrating recovery brings hope and opens doors for others to find it.” To learn more about Recovery Fest, find them on Facebook @RFLakeshore.
