The 2022 county population estimates have been released by the Census Bureau. With a population of 300,873, Ottawa County remains the 7th largest county in Michigan. This is an increase of 2,556 from 2021. From the start of the decade in 2020, Ottawa County has grown by 3,984 people.
Among the largest counties in Michigan, Ottawa County continues to be one of the fastest growing. Of the top ten largest counties in the state, Ottawa County grew the most since 2020, with an increase of 1.34%. Livingston County saw the second-largest growth at 1.13%. And Kent County came in third with 0.09%. The remaining seven counties in the top ten saw their population shrink over the same time.
