Ottawa County Unemployment Rate for 2022 and January 2023

Ottawa County’s annual unemployment for 2022 was 3.3%. The rate, recently released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, shows a decrease in unemployment in Ottawa County from 2021’s 4.1%.

Also released were the preliminary unemployment rates for January 2023. Ottawa County’s unemployment rate for January measured 3.5%, up from December’s 2.9%. This rate is the fourth lowest in Michigan for January, with unemployment rates ranging from 3.4% in Oakland County to 21.2% in Mackinac County.

All of Michigan’s eighty-three counties saw an increase in unemployment rates from December to January.
