Explore Unemployment Data with Our New and Interactive Dashboard
If you are looking to explore unemployment data or see historic data on unemployment rates, Ottawa County has a new, interactive Unemployment Dashboard available. This dashboard allows you to view and filter annual unemployment data for Ottawa County, Michigan, and the United States. National data goes as far back as 1947, while Michigan and Ottawa County has available data from as far back as 1976 and 1990 respectively. Monthly unemployment data is also available for Ottawa County from January 1990 onwards.
This dashboard will be updated with each new unemployment data release and is useful in comparing today's unemployment rates to rates of the past. It also allows you to easily view the impact of major events on unemployment rates both nationally and locally such as the 2008 financial crisis or the COVID-19 pandemic.
You can explore the new dashboard on the Department of Strategic Impact’s County Statistic page. You can also view the Unemployment Dashboard directly.
